Melissa Judeh: I'm here to talk with you about platelet-rich plasma. Some of you may have noted it as PRP. PRP is our body's natural by-product that we utilize for several different things here at JEM Medspa. PRP is the platelet portion of your blood, and what it does is it helps to heal our tissues and help to grow new cells. It basically acts as a matrix that promotes new collagen to grow. The science behind it is, is that when it's reintroduced into the skin, it's going to release different growth factors. Those growth factors are going to attract regenerative cells to that area in which it's going to regenerate that new healthy tissue, increase collagen, and in turn, it's going to help alleviate fine lines and wrinkles, improve texture and tone, acne scarring, things of that nature. There are three primary things we do with the PRP here at JEM Medspa. One is in combination with a dermal filler. We utilize a dermal filler to help to reshape and restructure, and then we layer it with the PRP that helps to hold the filler in a little bit longer and also gets all the benefits of utilizing that PRP. We call that the Vampire Facelift. We also utilize PRP for micro-needling in which it's applied topically in combination with our Skin Pen, helps to wake up sleepy hair follicles, strengthen hair follicles and just give a rejuvenated look to the hair area in a man or a woman.
