Can PDO Threading Be Combined With Other Treatments?
Over time, some of the facial features we loved start to change – our forehead develops wrinkles, our once plump cheeks start to sag, we get lines around our eyes. While this is a natural part of life, it’s something many despise. These signs of aging don’t have to be a cause of stress, though.
At JEM Medspa, our Orland Park and Elmhurst, IL teams are proud to offer PDO threading to help enhance the appearance and health of the skin. Whether you’re looking to reduce mild to moderate wrinkles, sagging skin, or just want to rejuvenate your skin for a youthful appearance, PDO threading at JEM Medspa could be just what you’re looking for.
What is PDO threading?
PDO threading is the process of using dissolvable sutures to lift and contour our Elmhurst and Orland Park, IL patients’ complexions. During this nonsurgical facelift, our team uses threads that stimulate the production of collagen to even further enhance the health of your skin. Performed in one of our upscale private treatment rooms, the PDO procedure only takes around 30 minutes. The procedure begins with rubbing a numbing ointment on the skin; then, we will insert the threads into the treatment area and lift the sagging skin. In time, the threads will start to dissolve and turn into collagen. You can expect your results to last for about 12 – 18 months.
Can my thread lift be combined with other treatments?
While PDO threading is a wonderful option for lifting and refreshing the skin, it does not help other aesthetic desires. After threading, your skin will appear lifted, tighter, and refreshed; however, if you’d like to maintain these results or further enhance your results, you can combine this treatment with other rejuvenation options.
Many often choose to combine their thread lift with injectable treatments, like wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers, and more. Some common treatments combined with PDO threading include:
- Wrinkle relaxers: Wrinkle relaxers, like BOTOX® and Dysport®, could be used in conjunction with a thread lift near the brow and eye area to reduce Crow’s feet and frown lines, as the threads are often not suitable for those areas.
- Dermal fillers: A dermal filler, like Restylane® or Sculptra®, can be used with a thread lift to provide an even fuller appearance and a larger lift result, closer to that seen in a surgical treatment or liquid facial.
- Laser skin resurfacing: Laser resurfacing can often be combined with a thread lift if you have skin damage, like sun or age spots, acne scars, an uneven texture, and other issues.
If you’re interested in lifting and tightening your skin, PDO thread lifting at JEM Medspa in Orland Park and Elmhurst, IL could help you reduce wrinkles and plump up your skin for a refreshed and rejuvenated look. For further enhancement, BOTOX and other wrinkle relaxers could be utilized to address wrinkles by the eyes and between the brows, while Restylane and other dermal fillers could be used to provide facelift-like results.
